穿衣话题 @ 10月 30, 2007

大湖Says:Disclaim; I’m not here to criticize anyone’s dress preference.

Generally speaking, people everywhere dress for an occasion properly. For example, you will dress differently when you are attending a wedding, vs. a funeral, go to church on Sunday vs. a night-out around town with friends. When people go to work for business, people should dress up like they mean to do business. Because each individual is part of the company and their image is part of the company’s image.

I have seen ladies wear high-heel shoes on the top of the “Yellow Mountain” instead of hiking boots, and construction worker in their western style suits instead of working cloth. But right or wrong, who has the rights to judge?

Michael Says:what do you wear to work everyday?

How’s your working going?

Could you make more money based on a nice suit? Or do you think that the spirit and thoughts under the suit is more important?

What’s the difference between the formal and leasure clothing?

Now the employers tend to creat a comfortable working friendly environment for the workers which can stimulate the enthusiasm, creativity, passion…? what do you think?

Some people call the suit “monkey’s cloth”. What do you think?

emmaemma Says:hey Michael, i can’t help but wanna say with the suits we are wearing everyday, are just following our company’s dress code on what’s appropriate for the workplace, in order to maintain a level of professionalism …hmm but Christina, a ripped jeans, i don’t know, but again, i personally think it rocks! ;)

    Dress Code

    1. It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a pay raise.

    2. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a pay raise.

    3. If you dress just right, you are right where you n eed to be and therefore you do not need a pay raise.

    Sick Days

We will no longer accept a doctor’s certificate as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

    Holiday Days

Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturday & Sunday.

    Compassionate Leave

This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives, or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

    Toilet Use

    1. Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the cubicles.

    2. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the cubicle door will open, and your picture will be taken.

    3. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company notice board under the “Chronic Offenders” category.

    4. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company’s mental health policy.

    Lunch Break

    1. Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more so that they can look healthy.

    2. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.

    3. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that’s all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. Remember we are an employer of choice and we are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation, and input should be directed elsewhere.

Also, due to the new cost management initiative the light at the end of the tunnel will now be turned off.

Dress up for working is OK. Some professional positions are required. I do prefer Casual, especially during the weekend or in lab.

  5. Michael Says:

afan: That’s so funny! AND that could be the real situation some day! lol

  6. BENM Says:

casuals, leisure, sport, they are also my favorite style, i think my company is more human and liberal,so that we can wear slippers and slacks to work, hah, bcoz our boss said we r not a true company either, it is just a institute or nonprofit organization, it shouldn’t too formal or uniformed! Compared to afan’s Co. i am so lucky, lol

afan; that’s hilarious! I have to change job if my company posts such rules.
Michael; sorry, no time monkey around trying to answer you “monkey suit” questions, got better things to do.
Speaking of the “monkey suit”, it reminds me that I need take my to the near-by dry clearing service. I need it this weekend.
